I was moving today and my aloe plant in it's pot fell when we had to stop suddenly and one of the plants got totally severed from it's roots.... it also bounced around a little and was not watered properly for the past two weeks (I won't go into why; but all the leaves were green) and now it is showing very faint very early signs of discolouration as of the past two hours in spots I suspect is where it got banged around after it was severed off from the roots....

what i have done is made a temporary pot out of a jar, filled with dirt and put it into that dirt and watered it..... I don't know if that is what I should do.... the jar was way too deep and I didn't have enough dirt so I put paper towel in the bottom then put dirt on top of that, then planted the aloe in the dirt (with no roots).... it's buddy that it used to share a pot with still has it's roots and is in the original pot (where there is no room; they were getting close to needing to be repotted anyways)....

I am going to have to move it again into a proper pot...

is this the best way to have dealt with this situation?
