Wed, April 2, 2008 - 1:16 PM1. Let the cut end of the cutting callous.
2. Remove some of the lower leaves so that you have at least a couple of inches of bare stem.
3. Fill a small pot with some loose, fast-draining potting soil and moisten it.
4. Poke a hole a couple of inches deep in the potting soil and place the stem of your cutting inside. Firm up the soil around it.
5. Keep the plant out of direct sunlight until it roots (usually a couple of weeks).

Sun, April 6, 2008 - 8:28 AMI literally just stuck my jade clipping in the ground and it is flourishing five weeks later. Maybe I got lucky. -

Tue, April 8, 2008 - 7:24 AMIt doesn't take much. I usually stick a leaf in some sand and it pretty much starts itself. Probably a little rooting hormone wouldnt' hurt.
